The Provincial Government has at long last announced the details of 3 new programs, funded through the $129 million Community Development Trust. This trust is designed to help layed off forest workers get training, opportunitites and a transition program to early retirement. For more information chech out the links below

Our Local is in the southern central interior of British Columbia. We represent about 3000 members in industries ranging from wood product manufacturing and silviculture to construction, insulation, high tech, manufactured housing, RV manufacturing and saw manufacturing. Our geographic boundaries are officially as follows:

EASTERN BOUNDARY - From Mount Odin, South along the Monashee Mountains to the 49th parallel.

SOUTHERN BOUNDARY - From the junction of the Monashee Mountains and the 49th parallel, along the 49th parallel, West to Longitude 121.

WESTERN BOUNDARY - From the junction of the 49th parallel and Longitude 121, North to a point immediately West of Brodie, thence North-West to Falkland.

NORTHERN BOUNDARY - From Falkland through Grindrod; thence North-East to the Northern end of Mabel Lake; thence South-East to Mount Odin.

In simpler terms, from Christina Lake to Manning Park in the south, Manning Park to Falkland in the west, Falkland to Cherryville in the north and Cherryville to Christina Lake in the East.
